Investors are racing to acquire one of the oldest football clubs in the English Premier League. In a deal considered the largest in football history to buy a sports club, the owners of Manchester United received three large financial offers to buy the club.
Where the American Elliot Fund presented an offer of five billion pounds sterling, while the second offer came from the company "INEOS," which confirmed through a statement that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS had made an offer to acquire a majority stake in Manchester United Football Club. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considered one of the richest businessmen in Britain, with a fortune estimated at around 12 billion pounds sterling.
And the third offer came from the state of Qatar, where Sheikh Jassem bin Hamad bin Jaber Al Thani, the head of one of the largest Qatari banks, announced through a statement that the offer was to purchase 100% of the club and aimed to restore the club to its former glory both on and off the field, as well as to focus on putting the fans at the heart of the club once again.
International news agencies have reported that the Qatari offer to acquire the club exceeds the 5 billion euro mark. If the sale of the club is completed, it will exceed the sale of the English club Chelsea, which was sold to American investors for 4.8 billion euros.
